McGovern Library Dedication
The dedication of the George and Eleanor McGovern Library and Center for Leadership and Public Service took place on Oct. 5-7, 2006.

Legendary folk musicians Peter, Paul & Mary kicked off the three-day dedication celebration for the McGovern Library and Center for Leadership and Public Service, with a concert on Thursday, Oct. 5. The trio performed to a nearly packed house at the World’s Only Corn Palace.

Peter Yarrow and fellow group members Noel “Paul” Stookey and Mary Travers gave the crowd a personal, emotional and ideological homecoming during the concert. They were joined on stage by Sen. George McGovern and actor Mike Farrell.

The photos in this gallery were taken by Tim and Jeremy Waltner with the Freeman Courier, Freeman, S.D. They had back-stage access to the performers before, during and after the concert.
