HIV/AIDS is rampant, particularly in developing countries. For every person who has HIV/AIDS, dozens of others are affected - families, neighbors, entire communities. By 2010, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS estimates that 18 million children will have been orphaned by AIDS worldwide. What do poverty-stricken AIDS victims want most? Not clothing, not even drugs … food. Food to regain strength and fight the disease.

Join us in 2005 as we address the HIV/AIDS pandemic and how hunger relief can help those most in need.

The first McGovern Center Conference took place Nov. 21 and 22, 2002. During the two-day conference, several hundred people listened to experts discussing the problem of hunger and poverty in the world. Attendees were motivated to pursue ways to help feed the hungry.

The second McGovern Center Conference took place on Nov. 6, 2003.  This conference again tackled the difficult issue of hunger, with a focus on feeding children. We heard from experts in the field of public policy and private programs.
The third McGovern Center Conference took place on Nov. 9, 2004.  This conference focused on the life and legacy of George McGovern.
